"Award for Excellence and High Achievement..."
Al Saada Street Median Strip Sustainable landscape Design,
Emirate of Abu Dhabi

Every year the School of Architecture and Built Environment, Deakin University, makes a number of Awards for Excellence and High Achievement.

 

Michael has been recently advised that he is to be the recipient of an award at the awards ceremony to be held at Deakin Waterfront Campus on Wednesday 7 May 2014.

Michael was recently awarded a High Distinction at Deakin University for  a 4.1 kilometre Landscape Design of Al Saada Street, Abu Dhabi, as part of his Landscape Design Masterclass subject.   As a guest assessor, Professor Jim Sinatra, Emeritus Professor of RMIT Architecture wrote of this design work:  "Outstanding Piece of Work".

 

His plan incorporate both socio-economic and ecological sustainable features including windtowers.

Aerotropolis for the Al Gharbia Western Region of Abu Dhabi

Michael was recently awarded a High Distinction for the Design Thesis - an Aerotropolis for the Desert region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

 

 

Desert Landscape Tour
​

Michael recently undertook a self-designed solo desert landscape tour of the red centre and northern Australia.  He started this trip visiting friends in Alice Springs.  Angus D. works for the NT government and collects water plant species for study.
